Therapist as partners in mental health are so important, and for us queer people that often means we need a queer therapist. So glad you wrote about this.

Barriers to healthcare for us can be very real, even when they’re unintentional. Finding supportive healthcare professionals can be challenging.

I wrote a story a few years ago, just throwing an idea out about establishing some of a network where healthcare professionals could self identify as well qualified and well suited to treat queer people.

I got a pretty hostile response from a handful of medical professionals, who seemed offended that anyone would think they weren’t all perfectly capable of treating anyone.
