As an aside, the Witherspoon Institute has strong ties to the UK-based LGB Alliance, a group that claims to advocate for the rights of lesbian, gay and bisexual people but not transgender people. In reality, the LGB Alliance stands for almost nothing except opposition to equality and acceptance for transgender people in society.

Several LGB Alliance principals have done work for the Witherspoon Institute, whose virulent anti-gay positions make them seem strange bedfellows for folks who claim to be an alliance of gay people seeking to advance rights for gay people.
