The trouble is that almost nothing has changed for the better. Even though cops know they are on camera more and more, huge percentages of them continue to behave like brutal racist pigs who hold licenses to hunt down and destroy Black people. The news every day is filled with examples of how brutally racist and awful police in the US are. It seemed last summer that people were finally sick of it and would demand immediate and fundamental change.

Sadly, that momentum has been lost, and cops are right back to showing no fear as they terrorize Black people over and over and over again.

Here’s one of my tweets from yesterday, one of only three examples I chose from the news yesterday, of American cops terrorizing Black people with no repercussion.

These cops should go to prison and otherwise have their lives destroyed. But absolutely nothing will happen to them or the racist department they work for. There will be no justice, because racism in built into our system. This is how it’s DESIGNED to work.

And life goes on.
