The "tranquility of the South."
Don't rock the boat.
Don't push for true justice.
Don't advocate for the well-being of all.
Don't fight for prosperity and happiness for Black people.
Hardly shocking.
And it seems like not much has changed. The forces of "tranquility" seem to reign as supreme today as ever.
The details change, but not the general attitude of, "Don't bother me with the truth of oppression and mistreatment, because, don't you see, I'm doing just fine and I'm angry that you insist on showing me that others are not fine."
