The thing is this would be really funny as satire. (It is really funny, brava!) But the thing is, it's not really satire, is it? Because Trump has posted statements very similar to this in the past, and he might very well post something almost exactly like this after tonight's debate.

And while I can get dark chuckles out of that, it won't matter to his supporters. He can be as incoherent, thoughtless, and anti-democratic as anything ever, and his worshipers will keep right on worshiping him.

It's like it doesn't matter what he actually says or does. Like my next door neighbor who told me Trump is the only politician who's ever done anything for her ... when actually all his policies have ever done is hurt her as she struggles to work multiple jobs and feed her children.

She can't articulate why she loves Trump or what he's ever done for her. But nothing can dent her ardor.

It's a strange strange strange world we live in.
