The thing is, Allison, almost every trans person I've talked to who's actually watched the special say they feel that Dave was laughing at them and not with them. They found his special incredibly offensive and hurtful – especially since he made light of events happening in the UK right now that can legitimately be described as horrific.

We should listen to what trans people are telling us. When one marginalized person is making a large group of other marginalized people feel like shit, then something is out of whack.
