The State Department is absolutely awful on LGBTQ issues right now. This is not surprising considering Secretary Pompeo is a raving Evangelical Christian, on the record as an spoken homophobe and transphobe.

The anti-LGBTQ policies he has put in place since he became Secretary of State are just jaw-dropping.

The State Department won’t issue passports to the foreign-born children of same-sex couples in many cases, despite multiple court orders to do so.

Pompeo won’t issue visas to the same-sex partners of UN and international NGO staffers.

Cruelty is the only rationale for these policies.

I had no idea the State Department was so regressive on transgender issues. It’s just appalling.
