The sort of slippery slope argument is offensive. Gay people are nothing like Nazis. Speaking about white replacement theory and other racist topics is morally wrong. Racism is morally wrong.

Being gay is nothing like that at all, and we must recognize that. We should never draw these kind of comparisons, because the comparisons themselves are morally wrong.

We LGBTQ people are 100% human and equal. Speaking about our own live truths must never be reduced to the political or the controversial.

What’s disturbing about this school event is that the principal unquestionedly did try to stop this young man from speaking about being gay. That principal needs to lose his job.

But whether he does or not, no one must ever compare gay people to racists. Ever. There is no appropriate moral parallel here.

We will not put out existence up for debate. That’s just awful.
