The situations regarding policy about immigration are not comparable. The right in the United States seeks to limit birthright citizenship for one purpose — to keep darker skinned people from legally immigrating. They aren't even coy about that motivation. That's racist and xenophobic, irrespective of what other nations' customs and immigration traditions are like.
