The New York Times has always been a conservative newspaper, despite that some people consider them to be leftist. They have always published hateful diatribes against queer people, for as long as I can remember, going back to my days as an AIDS activist and even before, to the times of Anita Bryant's anti-gay campaigns.

Yes, the Times might be slightly to the left of other mainstream news organizations, but they are extremely conservative nonetheless. And the people who run the Times have no moral compunctions about trashing queer people, no more than they ever have.

For most of my youth and young adulthood, I experienced the New York Times as a great megaphone for anti-queer evil.

None of us should be surprised when the Times continue to show us who and what they are.
