The moral chutzpah of it is astounding, yes. But even beyond that is the ancient Catholic denial of reality. They burned Giordano Bruno at the stake for daring to tell scientific truth. They demanded that Galileo recant his truth lest he suffer a similar fate.

The Church is no different today. They don’t care about the truth. They don’t care about facts. And most especially, they don’t care about people who suffer. They insist on imposing suffering, knowing full well what the tragic outcome will be.

If any group of people on Earth are more evil that the Catholic hierarchy, I surely don’t know who they are. The only silver lining here is that their anti-trans stance will push even more decent and humane people away from them.
