The misogyny of it all is so stark and wrong. Pretending to vomit? Really? Because she doesn't look like a sexually attractive young woman Morgan wants her to look like? Pthhh!

I'm probably going to get a little defensive here, because as a gay man of a certain age, Madonna is one of my heroes. She stood up for us powerfully when it counted. The crusty old assholes who run the Catholic Church excommunicated her ass more than once because she dared speak truth to power.

She spoke up in defense of members of gender and sexual minorities, of women, of anyone who rejected the patriarchy and the misogyny it's founded on.

Not only that, she brought it home powerfully into living rooms around the world with music and art that made it all so relatable and understandable.

That she's now being attacked on misogynistic grounds must really feel terrible to her.

Funny how you never hear aging rock stars who are men treated this way. Madonna deserves so much better than this, and while it may not be my place to say this, she deserves far better from women, whom she fought for so hard throughout her life.
