The midterms are almost here, the Congressional investigation is going nowhere fast, and unless something really surprising happens, the House is going to shift to the Republicans, the investigation will stop, nobody will be held to account, and the mechanisms of voting will more and more be handed to corrupt Republican control, entrenching minority rule even further.

More and more respected American voices are crying out about the danger, but few of us are listening. And yes, calling these people rioters instead of racist insurrectionists is a big part of the problem.

We need to be calling the problem what it is, a cancer of straight/cis /white people fighting as hard as they can to rule over Black people and other minorities. They will pull no punches, they will not be fair, they will not play by any rule book.

They're winning, and very few people in power on the left seem willing or able to do anything about it.

This is how democracy dies.
