The Mattachine Society is probably very much underappreciated even as they and their goals are occasionally misrepresented or misunderstood.

But their work in facilitating the studies that led to homosexuality being removed from the DSM was groundbreaking and ground shaking.

It’s unfortunate that their pioneers have been largely overlooked in LGBTQ myth making.
