The liberal elite abandoning people is the usual experience if you're a member of a marginalized minority. Like Joe Biden abandoning the Equality Act this year after repeatedly promising LGBTQ people to make it one of his administration's highest priorities.

It's not just Biden; you'd be hard-pressed to find a mainstream Democrat anywhere who has talked about the Equality Act in the last many months. Meanwhile LGBTQ people, many of whom live on the margins and suffer real economic hurt because of homophobic/transphobic discrimination, are shouting, "Hey! You forgot about us! Please stop abandoning us and keep your damn promises!"

But when we say those things, liberal elites tell us to sit down and be quiet and know our place. Or they'll tell us things aren't so bad after all and we need to stop catastrophizing. But it doesn't matter to them, because they're making six figures. Because they're sucking on the public teat in DC or in state capitals or wherever else, and their lives are comfortable, and they literally just don't care.

And you know what? They know we have to suck it up. They know they have us over a barrel. It's either them or Trump's deplorable hordes.

But you know what else? They think we're going to forget. They think they can get away with it without increasing ill will toward their Party and practices. But they're wrong. There's a reckoning coming.
