The idea that you get to decide who is a Christian is absurd, and I'm pretty sure you must know it is absurd. Your standard for who a Christian is doesn't matter to people that Christians are hurting, and it has nothing to do with my argument anyway.
In my own 60 years of life, I've learned directly that Christians are highly likely to be terrible people who want to hurt me. That's simply true. Who are queer people in the United States most frightened of? Christians, obviously, because they hate us so much.
Then you come along and tell me not to worry about it because in your opinion they aren't actually Christians?
Do you see why I'm telling you you're absurd? Your negation doesn't DO anything except make you feel better about yourself.
It certainly doesn't stop Christians from hating on us and hurting us. Whether or not you choose to call them Christians is irrelevant. They vastly outnumber you, and they get to call themselves whatever they want to call themselves. That's how language works. And in the language I speak, a Baptist is a Christian. Always, by definition. Ask yourself this: If Baptists aren't Christians, what religion is it they are actually practicing?
