The idea that trans kids are trans kids because of fashion or because their parents are inappropriately indulging a phase is so pernicious and does so much harm.

Not only does the evidence show that not to be true, but the idea that kids shouldn’t express gender as they like is rooted in both transphobia and misogyny.

If being transgender were not such a big deal to many people, then more kids would be free to express who they are.
