The idea that a sliver of a girl’s skin when she’s raising her arms is so distracting that she needs to change her clothing is sexist beyond words.

It’s telling that you almost never see boys criticized for showing skin. I’m not saying a boy would be able to wear crop top in at school; I don’t know what their dress code is like.

I’m just saying, dollars to donuts, teachers would be very unlikely in that school to focus on boys showing skin. We’re conditioned to think it’s okay for boys to do that but it’s not okay for girls.

I could deep dive into all the reasons that’s toxic and sexist, but I’m sure I’d just be preaching to the choir.
