The Eagle and the Spike we're leather bars that faced each other on opposite corners of 23rd Street by the Hudson. I think it was 11th Avenue, but I wouldn't swear by it.

Last time I checked, they were both still there. Neither had the hardcore reputation of the Mineshaft, but I didn't know that when Lenny first brought me into the Spike for Sunday brunch. Lol

Edit: I just googled. The Spike is gone, and the Eagle has moved to 28th. Street.
