The damage Citizens United is doing to our nation is incalculable. Our democracy has never been anything like the realization of an ideal, but this Supreme Court decision puts representative government itself in question.

And it is indeed rich to watch McConnell speak out against corporate speech when freedom of corporate speech underlies the Supreme Court’s enabling of unlimited corporate campaign contributions.

No corporate free speech equals no guaranteed corporate money. I’d say it’s shocking McConnell doesn’t understand that, but of course he understands it. He just doesn’t care. He’s never let principal stand in the way of doing what he wants.
