The concept of Satan and demons terrified me as a child, because the people in my church believed in them explicitly. They believe that evil spirits were lurking around us fighting to possess us and harm us.
They believed possession happened a lot.
I laugh now, but many Christians really are that kind of idiotic, superstitious fool. My own father performed exorcisms. He also anointed people with oil, praying over them when they were sick.
My mother took us to the pediatrician, and he didn't oppose that, but he sure did tout the benefits of faith healing at church.
We didn't go in for speaking in tongues in my church, but I witnessed it in many other churches.
Watching those maniacs wave their arms around, shout gibberish, and have some kind of emotional meltdown — often in tears or slobbering well..., it's certainly a reminder that so many Christians are disgusting, ignorant, superstitious pieces of trash.
It's the 21st century, and people are actively pursuing things like faith healing while fearing demons.
And of course, these are the same people who lose their shit over gay and trans folks.
God save us all from these ignorant, superstitious Christians. Please.
