After the deposition, I drove to Carmel on scenic Highway 1 for pleasure and to stay the night, planning to fly home out of San Francisco the next day. I loved the drive and walking around the misty storybook town. Then I had a fine dinner in a cozy restaurant recommended by my hotel concierge.

That's one heck of a scenic drive. I took it with my partner a couple times when we were visiting San Francisco. Once, we even took Old Highway 1 up all the way from LA and spent two nights in Big Sur. Gorgeous. I hope you've had a chance to repeat the experience without all the guilt and everything.
