That happened to me just the other day. I was talking about YMCAs and steam rooms, and got the stupid idea to write about the famous old Mcburney YMCA in New York City, the Village People, the gay cruising scene, and Italian mobsters.

It turned into a story I published this morning. I don’t know if people are going to like it yet, but I had a lot of fun writing it and remembering some of the stuff that happened.

All because of some harebrained idea.
