That actually happened to me my senior year in high school. I was canoeing with my church youth group, and we went through a patch of turbulent water, and I was thrown out of the canoe. I got caught underneath a brush pile, and the current pinned me. I struggled violently, but there were nothing but branches above me and no access to air.

Eventually reached the point where I became resigned and believed I was going to drown to death. I went limp, and then the current swept me out from underneath the brush pile.

I'm not sure what I took away from that, but I guess sometimes you have to slow down and let life happen.
