Thanks so much for the mention, Sarah. You know, when I wrote that story about Anderson Cooper I wasn’t really worried about him.

He’s wealthy and powerful enough to take care of himself without needing anybody’s help, least of all mine.

But just think of the thousands of LGBTQ parents like him who are not rich and influential.

I was lucky to have raised my child in Montreal where homophobia is frowned on and a local Anglican priest was a personal friend.

But so many LGBTQ parents live in places where Christian beliefs really hurt them.

Wake up calls like yours are necessary and very welcome.
