He still goes to church three times a week when his failing health permits.

His consciousness about LGBTQ issues isn’t very elevated, but he has had very stern words with his congregation about welcoming queer people.

His heart’s in the right place.

And I don’t know if you’ve read the story about Dad flying to New York to help me after my husband died.

Nobody else in my evangelical family so much as offered me their condolences.

So, yeah.

My dad’s a champ.
