Thanks, Michael. It's just so astonishing to me that a homophobic bigot would dare to come into OUR space where we're sharing OUR stories to fling disgusting insults at us based on his religion.
Religion is like that. It encourages people to be disgusting like that, in my opinion. Because it elevates superstition, faith, and imagination over things that are real, observable, and measurable.
I rejected all forms of religion and spirituality a very long time ago, for two reasons:
1: religious people, like the Buddhist homophobic pig in this thread, are highly likely to sling insults at us queer people — based on nothing but their superstitious horseshit.
2: People like that, and systems like that, come to normalize treating us like shit. And this thread perfectly shows us how.
This guy was able to come in here and feel perfectly comfortable slinging shit. Because he's religion gives him cover for that. Gives him respectability, in a certain manner. Because people are used to the idea that religion gets a pass, gets privileged over other human ideas.
I am so over that kind of filth. All of us, when we see shit like this, need to speak up as loud as we can and tell the homophobes to snap their disgusting snouts shut.
We need to be over it, and we need to make it known in crystal clear terms that we will not tolerate being insulted, no matter what religious beliefs give the insults cover.
We're here, we're queer, and if they don't get used to us, tough for them.
It's 2023, and it's time that religious homophobes, like the Buddhist in this thread, need to learn that there's a high social cost attached to being a depraved, judgmental bigot.
