Thanks for this story, because even though I've read about this proposed law in mainstream media, I didn't see anything about this huge problem for women voting.

Why am I not surprised that this measure is being pushed by House Speaker Mike Johnson? He's a staunch Evangelical Christian, an avowed sexist, and a vicious homophobe.

In the days before Trump, he would have been at best a marginalized extremist voice in the House, if he'd even been able to win election.

Today, because of the Trump revolution in the Republican Party, he runs the House.

And clearly, women's voting rights are of no concern to him. Why would they be? He believes women are meant to be subject to men. Like him.

But Johnson aside, I really wish the mainstream media would do a better job with accuracy, and I really wish they would stop normalizing extremism like this.
