Thanks for this! Your story is a lot of fun, and I learned some things I've never known about.

You know, there is a sort of a modern analogue to the Alexander romances. As I read I was thinking about how LGBTQ people, especially gay men, romanticize Alexander, focusing on his probable love relationship with his Macedonian peer Hephaestion and his rather more unquestionably sexual relationship with the Persian eunuch Bagoas.

Whole books have been written, from Mary Renault's lovely, historically grounded Alexander trilogy to reams of more fantastical fan fic and even unabashed works of written porn.

It seems that fascination with Alexander just keeps on going, all these millennia later.
