Thanks for such an encompassing review of Pride from your traveling perspective! It's wonderful to see all the positivity.

It's sad to see that Pride events in Russia and in countries like Turkey are being increasingly violently opposed. I can't remember exactly when Turkey banned Pride parades, but it was not all that long ago. Every year, despite the ban, queer people show up on Istanbul streets to parade. Cops invariably show up, often beating them to bloody pulps. But they parade anyway!

Such is the spirit of Pride!
