Thanks, Darren.

Naturally, I write this thinking of the whole Mormon thing from over the past few days.

A homophobic bigot of a religious man dares accuse us of intolerance while out of the same mouth he morally judges us.

He dares tell us that we stand for bigotry and hate while he contributes money to the LDS Church, which is one of the most powerful forces of evil homophobic persecution and oppression in the United States.

He is morally complicit in our persecution just as his Church and many evangelical Churches used to be complicit in the evils of racist bigotry.

It is virtuous and righteous of us to condemn his evil and the evil of any religious organization that stigmatizes us, brands us as sinners, or works to discriminate against us.

We should be tolerant of that evil?

Tolerating evil is morally identical to committing evil.

That’s why I wrote this story about learning the lessons of complicity as a child.
