Thank you so much for writing this! This is a really tough topic, because of racism. Far too many white Americans would dismiss what you wrote, even if recognizing the underlying pathos, by decrying "Black on Black" violence as a way of distancing themselves from the problem, like it's not their problem, like a prevalence of guns in society isn't something they need to worry about, because they aren't Black.
Underlying the attitude will be a usually unspoken premise that some deficiency of character (rather than poverty and desperation) leads to this gun violence in Black communities.
And that's the end of that, as far as they are concerned.
It's time for all Americans to wake up and see the horrific damage an increasing gun epidemic is doing to us.
Guns are getting cheaper and easier to access for everyone. Gun ownership and public carrying are becoming normalized for everyone. Guns are getting easier to access, not harder.
Obviously, more and more people are going to die, and I cannot understand why folks don't object to that.
