Thank you so much for putting in the work to present Pangborn so thoroughly and so well.
I have read some of his stories, but never in any focused or collected way. And mostly, a very long time ago.
I remember reading Davy in high school! I specifically remember that cover with the French horn. (What gay teen wouldn't pick that book up? Deliberate marketing?) I don't remember details of the novel, but I remember that post-apocalypse universe well enough that I know I read other of Pangborn'e stories too.
In fact, without ever feeling fully focused on Pangborn's oeuvre, I think he had quite an influence on my adolescent self. The more I read your article, the more I recognize that.
Now, I really need to re-experience his work as an adult.
