I'm so sorry your family has to struggle with the consequences of political anti-transgender grandstanding. I'm more than especially sorry that Alistair had to live through that violent truck bullying. No child should ever be made to feel that kind of fear.

Children ought to be valued, treasured even, and if we've come to live in a society willing to treat a young teenager with violent disdain for being a little different, that's more than just sad.

I'm glad you're able to stay in Alabama for now. I'm sorry you had to take serious steps toward relocating.
