Thank you for your support for queer people, but can I just say without offending you that I think blasphemy is one of the most horrific concepts that ever originated in Christianity?
Over the millennia so many people have been killed or persecuted for so-called blasphemy. It's a word I wish we could eradicate from the language.
I should mention for purpose of transparency that I'm an atheist who thinks religious people are deluded. But still ... The idea that people who deviate from accepted theology should be punished (or even criticized) is an idea that we would all be better off without.
When I hear the word blasphemy, all I can think about are the historical horrors and evils of Christianity — all the "blasphemers" and "heretics" who have been put to the sword over the millennia.
That's not even to mention Islam, where "blasphemers" are also often severely punished.
Frankly, I'd rather have people stand up for queer rights using far healthier concepts and inclusive terminology than "blasphemy."
