Thank you for this! The stories are fascinating and illuminating. My own series of very early childhood memories come to me in snatches, though I don't believe they're probably as episodically connected as yours. I remember preschool, falling off a red tricycle, and watching boxing on television with my father, when I was about three. I also remember a very early sense of alien-ness, of knowing for sure that something inside me was different from most other boys.

I suppose it's easy to say that sort of knowledge in a five or six year old can't be real, and that it is simply an inevitable function of retrospective memory. Nonetheless, I do clearly remember feeling it, and many transgender and gay people report similar feelings.

I'm very glad to read about your memories.
