Thank you for that! I didn't write about the fact that the boys who did the bashing were driving an $80,000 car, or that the area is extremely prosperous, though perhaps I should have. It's hard to know how much to include and how much to leave out when you're trying to keep your word count down.

But it was certainly running through the back of my mind as I wrote that not even living in an upper middle class area means living in peace – not if you are LGBTQ.
