Thank you for explaining bubble feeding! I'd never heard of it before. I have, coincidentally, been watching a lot of footage of close-up encounters with humpback whales.

I think I might have told you before that I've been watching YouTube videos of people who sold their homes and bought sailboats to explore the world.

I'm just getting current on a series of videos (Sailing Meraki is the name of the channel) by a lovely Canadian couple who bought a monohull and sailed it from Vancouver Island all the way down to Southern Mexico and then back up into the Sea of Cortez.

They've filmed amazing encounters with pods of humpback whales, frequently capturing videos of the wales cavorting and playing, obtaining some pretty good close-ups (with their drone) of humpback mothers with calves.

Some of their footage is just astonishing. They've even captured some audio, but they explain that what we the viewers are hearing isn't even close to the depth in complexity of what they hear in real life.

I'm not going to be able to buy a sailboat and travel the world, but I'm so thrilled that people like you and the Sailing Meraki family are able to share your experiences so vividly with the rest of us.

Thank you!
