Thank you! This open conservative dismissal of a woman because she is gay and Black would have been expected when I was young. Democrats and Republicans alike would have simply dismissed her. We might even have had to look hard to find journalism covering her case.

It's instructive to watch Republicans losing their shit over her release.

They simply do not value Black and queer people the way they do other Americans.
