Thank you! I left a much shorter comment wondering why Americans should have to set aside our own work for social justice and a better society at home. Should we be content with the status quo because people in other nations live differently than we do? I get this kind of whataboutism all the time when I write about LGBTQ issues. "Don't you know gay people in Country X get thrown from roofs? You don't realize how good you have it."

Well, excuse me, but I don't crave to live just a little more freely than gay people in Country X, thanks very much.
