I think the biggest waffling that we LGBTQ people see when it comes to apologies from Christians is the repetition of the innately toxic “hate the sin, love the sinner” trope.
We don’t understand why some Christians think it’s okay to say that. We receive it as a viciously horrifying message.
The only apology we want is for you to tell us that you know for certain that we do not sin when we have sex with our loved ones.
If you cannot or will not say that, then we know that you are not actually apologizing. We detest you and hold you in the greatest possible contempt for your arrogant judgment.
