Superb reading recommendations! The Harlan Greene offering is haunting and gorgeous. I might add that his other two novels are exceptional as well. I particularly enjoyed his brave effort in The German Officer's Boy, using fiction to tell a story about real events —in a way nobody had dared tell it before.
