Such an important story raising issues most people never think about when it comes to queer parents and society – especially when it comes to the current wave of laws and regulations preventing teachers from talking about their same-sex partners and their families, which are (obviously) not any more sexual than families with opposite-sex partners.

By the way, I raised a foster kid with my same-sex partner, and while we had the occasional problem due to negative public reaction to our sexual orientation, the experience was mostly positive and joyful.
