"Struggle with same-sex attraction" has to be one of the most ugly phrases in the English language. There's so much packed in there, especially the baked in presumption that being gay is something that can be overcome if one struggles hard enough.

Then there's the reality that the people who invented the phrase and who use it still today do so deliberately so as to avoid saying gay or bisexual.

They deny us our own identities even as they pathologize us.

And of course, as you seem to clearly understand, they have nothing to offer us but pain and suffering.

I'm so sorry you and your wife had to go through that. I think it's amazing that you're staying together to raise your child, I wish you both happiness and fulfillment.

I also hope you keep telling your story hear at P&P. I'd like to know more, and I think many other readers would too.
