Stop it. Anyone choosing celibacy because they believe the Bible or the Christian God or whatever doesn’t want them or requires them not to have sex with a same-sex partner is endorsing homophobic bigotry. I know you understand that.
You would never put up with somebody choosing racist bigotry on the ground that the Bible suggests or mandates it. Neither would I, and I will never put up with homophobic bigotry either.
If a person who claims to be gay says they can’t or won’t have sex with somebody of the same sex because of their Christian beliefs, then they are a homophobic bigot. I despise them as much as I despise racist bigots. They are normalizing evil, despicable theology that has been used to hurt us for centuries. I will call them out. I will shame them, shun them, and treat them like the monsters they are. I might feel sorry for them, but I won’t for one moment stop despising the evil they’re promoting with their evil religious beliefs.
“I’m choosing celibacy for myself and here’s why you might love it too” is ex-gay movement Christian bullshit. The ex-gay movement exists to normalize Christianity’s most disgusting doctrines and make homophobic bigotry look acceptable. Fuck them. I will fight them with every available resource I have.
Look, if we were having this conversation because a Christian decided sincerely, for himself only, never to date or marry a person of a different race, we wouldn’t even be having the conversation, because you would already know how fucked up that is.
This is the end of the discussion. We are done talking. I will not continue to justify the morality of same-sex relationships. I especially will not do it with a Christian. I’m sick and tired of this Christian bullshit, and I will not discuss the matter even one moment longer.
If you respond to me in any way other than to tell me you’ve thought about it and you now understand that I’m right, I will block you the instant I see the comment, without reading more than the first few words. We’re done.
