Statistically speaking, PrEP is more effective at preventing HIV infection (very close to 100% if taken as prescribed) than safer sex. But as safer-sex educators point out all the time, PrEP can't protect you from other sexually transmitted infections.

So the decision is certainly not black and white. It's quite a nuanced personal choice.

But if I were 23 again? I'd be PrEP for sure!
