St. Vincent's hospital in New York City's Greenwich Village was quite similar. As in your situation in San Francisco, the care teams at St Vincent's were among the most expert and dedicated in the nation. When Saint Vincent's closed down years ago, part of the site was turned into a public park and an AIDS memorial. The memorial wasn't originally in the plans, but so many people wanted a place to go to remember.
