Sounds good Re. I don’t know a better way to explain it than I already have. I’m actually an engineer with an IT background, by the way, though I haven’t worked in the field for a long time.

The problem I’m trying to describe is that intermittently, when Medium readers applaud a story on their mobile device, the claps appear to register. The numbers tally up, and everything looks right. But when they go back later, their claps have “disappeared.” And they never register at all in the Medium database.

I work very closely with a number of writers. We chat back and forth by IM as we work, and among other things, we applaud one another’s stories. So, we know when the applause doesn’t work. And it doesn’t work a lot. I mean really a lot.

But how do you do screenshots of an intermittent problem? How do you do a screenshot of applause that isn’t there? And why?” We all know it’s happening. Just about every writer I know who used Medium more than casually knows it’s happening.

We need Medium, Medium Staff, and Your Friends @ Medium to listen to us and communicate with us.

If they would interact with us, we get to the bottom of things. Their silence isn’t helpful at all.
