Somewhere buried in a note in one of my articles, I cited a major study by (I think) the Williams Institute that found that schools with GSAs have lower reported rates of bullying and lower rates of mental health crises and suicide attempts for ALL students, not just LGBTQ students.
The thinking goes that the clubs foster a healthier student environment for everyone in the school by making kids aware of problems that come from bullying people for being different.
If I can find the study, I’ll pass it along.
