Sometimes when I’m researching a story I will email or phone someone for a quote. I usually say that I’m an independent journalist writing on Medium.com. So far that has always done the trick. If anybody wants to complain about the quality of my writing, they can do that. But if they want to complain about where I publish, I’m really not interested. I’m too busy informing my readers about things they wanna know about.
